It's no secret that I love photography of all kinds. Whether it's capturing the giggles of children, the detail of a rose petal or the mildewed dead wood on a random door, I want to photograph it. The Tulsa Garden Center recently had an amateur photo contest called Portraits Of A Garden. There were several categories including seasons, water features and creatures. All shots entered had to be taken in Woodward Park, Linnaeus Teaching Garden or the Garden Center itself. After narrowing down from many that I have, I entered nine portraits. The Garden Center received over 400 absolutely incredible entries. The grand prize winner was a macro shot of the beginning stage of a flower opening and the detail was amazing. I had no idea I would be up against such wonderful talent and it just fuels my photography desire even more. Although I didn't take home a blue ribbon, I can't wait to enter again next year!
One of my entries.
