Living in Oklahoma we're used to the ice, snow and freezing temperatures. However, after the ice storm a few years ago and losing our power for a week the thought of ice literally sends shivers up my spine. Our nightly dinner of oatmeal heated on our gas stove, wearing our camping headlights to light our way and with everyone else in Tulsa being out of power as well, we had nowhere to go so it was early to bed on our mattress pulled into the living room in front of the fireplace. This past weeks "winter storm" was nowhere near as bad as what we have seen (Blizzard of '09 anyone??), but the snow and ice did accumulate and of course it was freezing. I was in our bathroom one night and my eyes caught these gorgeous colors glowing through our shower window. The glass is already frosted but with the combination of the ice and street lights outside it made for one beautiful sight. I see a butterfly.
